At some point during my adolescent years, I wanted an ear ring and a tattoo (not at the same time, of course) but my parents said, "Not under my roof!"

Now, at middle-age, I'm glad I never got either.

I don't have anything against tattoos per se but they are just soooo...er....permanent. I mean, what is cute at 16 is soooo NOT cute at 65. :-)
