in the outdoors

Japan has an odd habit of covering their walkways with roofing to protect people from the elements. This curious habit has evolved into building covered roads and arcades.
This is a shot of Sakanacho 肴町- the fishmonger area.
Although it is now a shopping area with dozens of stores and restaurants this is still an active roadway. The road is cloased off during the day and people hang out around the boulevard. At night young people use the open space to play music, practice tricks on their skateboards and their BMX bicycles.

So what you're saying is that Japanese kids act like suburban American kids after the sun goes down?

LOL! Amazing how kids will be kids; no matter where they are.
