
instead of large heavily manned precincts Japan has a system of Koban to serve the public's policing needs. Koban, if you don't already know, are small sized, neighborhood constabularies that maintain security for local neighborhoods.

interesting commentary, and it's certainly one of the most attractive police stations i've ever soon, too. you've inspired me to post a photo of the police station where i live, which is also pretty nice.
