Same path different day

A couple of months ago I took a picture of this path when the cherry trees were blossoming. Now it's time for the Ginko trees to add their color to this splendid path.

It's not all black & white.

A surprising sight greeted me on a road I don't often take when I go to work. While Autumn is in full turn here, I never expected to see such a shocking display of colors from flowers. I also thought it was kinda funny that the signs behind the flowers say Himawari (ひまわり) which means sunflower in Japanese.

Harvest

Looking up into the night sky tonight the moon leered down upon me with such incredible intensity that the idea of Harvest moon popped into my head. Now, I don't know if the moon is a harvest moon but it reminded me of some harvest pictures that I took recently.

This is just one of the ways that rice is stacked up to dry out. The bundles often look really cool and often end up making some interesting patterns.
I think it's kinda weird to live in a city where farms and modern residences mingle like milk and Cheerios in a pretty green breakfast bowl..

Keeping things tidy.

I am amazed at how busy the grounds keepers become as the leaves start to fall. All around the city gardeners are trying to keep pace with the demands of customers who need their gardens prepared for winter. Once I find a place all done up for Jack frost I will try to show you a different side to Japanese gardens.

Growth

I came upon a hidden place.
Truth be told it was not hiding, only waiting to be revealed and revered.
We start at the roots where flowers etch themselves in stone.

Trees I - My neighborhood

I like taking pictures of trees. Animals and people can be somewhat unpredictable and difficult to capture, but flora posses a patience matched only by buildings.

Areas of quiet

It doesn't matter wheter they are small or large, Japanese gardens are always charming. Now that the leaves are begining to turn and give us the warm colors of Autumn I am tempted to visit as many gardens as I can in the next few weeks.
